Mission Accomplished in the UAE

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

The internet connection was down in the Hotel so apologies for this late submission. Now back in the Welsh office having flown through the night.

The programme in Abu Dhabi was the first time the British Civil Service has run a Top Management Programme (TMP) overseas. The TMP is the one of the flagship leadership development programmes run by the Civil Service in this country. It has a mix of public and private sector delegates. My session was to support the programme through an insight into the practicalities of leading teams under extreme circumstances. As we did in Nigeria, talking about Polar bears when the temperature outside is +40 degrees provided a nice contrast and some great parallels. The audience were engaged and asked some great questions. I will be returning in October to support the second of three TMP programmes to be run over the next 12 months.

My thanks to Martin, David & Pali for the opportunity.

My attention now turns to a variety of projects after the bank holiday. Rich T will be delivering in London next week along with Chris in Siberia from next Saturday. Lots going on and some exciting developments with existing and new clients.

Pace of international delivery quickens

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

Over the past month mission has delivered in 3 continents. Leadership Development in Rio and Cape Town, guest speaking engagements in the Middle east on behalf of national governments. Management development programmes and Talent programmes in the UK for 3 separate organisations. Skill based one day master classes in Manchester, Birmingham and London. Ground breaking CSR projects in Tanzania. In addition we have teams due to deliver in Siberia for the first time next month (June) We will be sending a team to Tunisia very soon and then onto Kuala Lumpur, all very exciting.

The teams are working really hard to expand our network and will be working hard to build on our links in Hong Kong and Singapore - more news to follow.

A Great two days and a Huge Success!

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

Welcome to the first entry on the mission blog designed to keep you abreast of what we are all up to. For more detailed case studies please continue to look at mission news.

The annual regatta was a real success yesterday with 15 Sunsail 37’s rounding the course in the Solent. We had clients and friends from all over the country attend the event over the two days. We are grateful for Sunsail’s and the Marriott’s support on the day.

And they’re off!

2008 Regatta

Despite a lull and a strong spring tide all of the boats made it over the finish line, although Chris and the Virgin team were obviously looking around the Naval dockyard as they limped home half an hour behind the fleet.

Thanks also to Rachel, Karen and Yvonne who worked very hard to get the detail right and make the right things happen in the right order.
